FloBeau studied Biology and marine Ecology at the Faculty of Sciences of Luminy in Marseille and at the International University of the Sea in Cagnes. After first embarking on a ten month mission for sea turtle conservation on the Greek Island of Kefalonia, followed by six years working with various conservationist associations all over the South East of France, he draws upon a wide range of scientific and environmental datum. A self taught naturalist he began photographing underwater life in 2004 when he started out in his occupation. First motivated simply to document nature- marine life in particular- he soon realized his pictures might have an impact where the raising of environmental consciousness was concerned. FloBeau lives in the Var department, near Saint-Tropez and works on the water and seacoast of the Marine Protected Area Golfe de Saint-Tropez, mixing art and science in his photographic style. His pictures arouse our sensitivity to the sublime, the unknown, the beautiful, through landscape, macro, astro and underwater photography, educating us on the Mediterranean ecosystem and the natural riches figured therein.
