Lucas Fladzinski

I am interested in places; subjects and their environment that resonate from paradoxical moments in time – illusory places that are in the midst of change, yet for a moment, remain still. I am seduced by this translucent and symmetrical, highly organized landscape. My photographs are not a substitute for the reality of a particular place; it’s only a matter of time and position. In relation to the landscape, I hope that my photographs will uncover a new place.

Art exposes an unrestricted sketch of dreams, an unrelenting source of material imagination. The elusive nature of photography is the best way for me to understand and comment upon a world that hides more than it reveals. With my camera, I want to see a world that I see when my eyes are closed; with a photograph, I am reminded.
