Whether ceramic sculptures, architectural ceramics, fused glass or design, I think of my work as reflecting a spiritual resonance that spans from ancestral musings to organic contemporary. My goal is for these creative expressions to become a vital and integral part of one’s day-to-day living environment.

I work in a variety of earthenware, stoneware or porcilin clay bodies as well as glass depending on the form, surface treatment and intended application. Modular works are typically either slip cast, press molded or hand built. Sculptural works are most often hand built using a pinch method of construction; small dabs of clay are added until the form is complete. The pinch technique is a slow process, tranquil and meditative, thus allowing for the spirit of the form to evolve over a longer period of time. When complete, I will often go back and texture the surface before firing. I gravitate towards using simple glazes, oxides, under glaze stains, chalks and pencils in the surface treatment of my work.
