Senior-level investment banker and former energy industry executive Eric Fornell received a BA in economics and English from Amherst College in Massachusetts, and a BA in philosophy, politics, and economics from the University of Oxford in England. After graduating from Oxford, Eric Fornell began his career with Detroit, Michigan-based American Natural Resources (ANR), where he advanced to the position of vice president and led transportation and marketing for the company’s pipeline subsidiary. While with ANR, he served for a year as deputy director of the Detroit-Wayne County Port Authority. He went on to serve as president and CEO of CMS Enterprises, the oil and gas holding company subsidiary of public utility CMS Energy.

Upon joining multinational investment banking firm Goldman Sachs & Co., Eric Fornell utilized his accumulated experience in the energy sector to advise utility and pipeline companies on mergers and acquisitions opportunities. Following nine years with Goldman Sachs, he directed investment banking for J.P. Morgan’s power and utilities group and global natural resources division before attaining the position of Vice Chairman of J.P. Morgan Securities.

Since bringing his depth of knowledge to Wells Fargo Securities in 2012 as vice chairman, investment banking and capital markets, Eric Fornell has provided financial advice for clients in the utility and energy sector and expanded the firm’s operations into Canada.

A member of the Divots golf team while an undergraduate at Oxford, Eric Fornell enjoys playing golf with his friends and son whenever he has time away from work. Read Less
