Erica Zigelman has served with the New York City Department of Education for over thirty years. During this time, Erica Zigelman worked to develop her leadership skills and was promoted to the position of principal at Middle School 322 in 2005. Under her guidance, the school has won several grants and awards, revamped its science curriculum while adding three new laboratories, and established a gifted program.

Prior to becoming principal of Middle School 322, Zigelman underwent extensive training, building on her teaching experience by attending the New York City Leadership Academy for Aspiring Principals.

Zigelman earned her degree in school administration from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York, in 1998. She completed her bachelor’s degree in music education at New York University in 1979 and her master’s degree in 1981. She served as a music and performing arts teacher in New York City for over twenty years before transitioning to her present administrative role. Read Less
