I have successfully operated my business, Akeson Design, since 1990. During this fulfilling time, I have worked on a wide variety of printed materials, developed numerous websites for different businesses, and collaborated with a multitude of agencies, businesses, and entrepreneurs.

I am comfortable managing multiple projects, thrive with tight deadlines, good at directing the creative flow, do well working with clients, have a respectable approach supervising employees or contractors, and enjoy trying something new. Throughout my experience I have designed everything from brochures, catalogs, and books, to logos, posters, and billboards. I have also been designing and developing websites since the mid 90's.

I also have experience working at an award-winning 30 person marketing design agency (Wilmer Fong & Associates, Oakland), where I quickly became their #1 contractor at the height of their success. At another business in Benicia, CA, (IFS, Institutional Financing Services, an international fundraising service), I came in during their 'heyday' while they were Northern California's largest print buyer at the time (early 90's) and I brought the graphics department up to speed, from using early cut and paste methods to using computer graphics and layout programs.

I have recently started landscape design as an extension of my creative energy, exchanging inches for yards, and it's a great excuse to get out of the studio. I believe getting away from the computer occasionally is not only healthy but coming back to a project on the computer after getting out and 'stretching', meeting colleagues and friends, a ride on the bike — anything — rekindles the creative process and the desire required to complete a successful project.

My tools are the Adobe Creative Suite. The applications I use on a daily basis are Illustrator, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver and whatever other applications are needed. I also enjoy making and editing video in Adobe Premiere Pro.

The time has come to seek fresh new challenges, explore new roles, and share my creative skills, project ownership, and professional dedication in a full time position with a dynamic innovative business. Read Less
