Course: Contextualising Practice.
The course intends to enhance students ‘visual literacy’ – in their visual practice and exploring ideas through writing. Understanding the way we encounter and understand images during our everyday life comes within a set of theories described as ‘visual culture’ and it draws from a wide variety of academic disciplines (for example psychoanalysis, anthropology, semiotics, etc.) to frame debates about the ways we construct meaning. Teaching staff, Erasmus Intensive Programme
InformAnimation is a Summer School organized within the Erasmus Intensive Programme, by the Alghero School of Architecture of the University of Sassari in collaboration with a consortium of European academic partners.
The project's driving idea is that the growing accessibility to platforms for digitally producing and distributing animated products, combined with the language of animation's traditional capacity to bridge cultural, language and age boundaries can play a key role in enhancing communication in areas with high added value such as: education, e-learning, training, scientific dissemination, that are typically very dense and complex.
Within this framework, the IP educational goal is, through the development of a series of practical examples, to lay out possible new applications of the language of animation.
In this perspective, the project seeks to take advantage of the the interaction, the sharing and exchange of experiences, the skills and different points of view specific of the different Schools participating to such intensive project, in order to define the boundaries of the profile of the future Informanimator.
