UX Lead

Lead a team of five in design research, UX and UI design for a complex, data-driven software application for government social workers to manage child-welfare casework.

Freelance Senior Interactive Designer

UX and visual design for brand management applications.
Clients include: AT&T, Covidien, Enterprise, HBO, HSBC, Hyatt, Mercedes-Benz, Qualcomm, State Farm, TD.

Streamlined processes to reduce product turnaround time from ten days to approximately three days.

Interaction Design:
Improved usability and conceptualized new features for brand management toolkit, collateral customization tool and packaging wizard. Implemented a client “sandbox” where potential clients can demo basic products. Modularized custom features in order to add them to our “off-the-shelf” offerings.

Visual Design:
Applied client branding to all products. Regular new business pitches and custom work requests.

Technical Skills:
Redesigning both core product offerings and to meet responsive design standards.

Creative Director

Led conceptual, interactive and visual design, development, and implementation of complex multimedia applications and environments for use in academic, clinical, fieldwork, research and community contexts.

Set strategic vision and established design, usability, and branding styles and standards for all projects. Supervised a team of two designers.

Interaction Design:
Created and utilized site flow diagrams, wireframes, use cases and other documentation, as appropriate. Managed user testing of rapid prototypes and iterative releases. Conceptualized interaction design for projects including media annotation tools, digital archives and virtual environments.

Visual Design:
Developed mockups, presentations, icon systems, color palettes, style guides and other elements of look and feel for digital environments and associated print materials. Branding, naming and logo development at both an organizational and a client/project level.

Technical Skills:
Built HTML and CSS within a version control system. Hands-on development in Blogger, Drupal, Mediawiki, Moveable Type, Plone, Wikispaces and WordPress.

Information Architecture:
Translated entire global offline recruiting process into internet space. Designed and developed a Learning Management System for AIG Corporate Training.

Visual Design:
Provided creative direction for award-winning web-based training on Discriminatory Harassment. Created a unique web portal for all H.R.-related AIG divisions. Designed and produced a CD-ROM to be used internationally as New Hire Orientation.
