Regarded as one of America’s foremost authorities on cultural resource management, Dr. R. Christopher Goodwin serves as the CEO, President, and Director of Research of R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, Inc. Headquartered in New Orleans, the firm conducts historical and archeological research, heritage tourism, and preservation planning.

For more than 30 years, Dr. R. Christopher Goodwin has led archeological and historical investigations in the Caribbean and in 49 American states. His company has completed archeological and architectural inquiries at such well-known venues as the Washington Redskins' FedExField, the Baltimore Orioles’ Camden Yards, and the Baltimore Ravens’ M&T Bank Stadium. Dr. R. Christopher Goodwin’s clients have included private and governmental organizations, among these the Departments of Defense, Energy, Interior and Veterans Affairs. While working for the US Army Corps of Engineers and FEMA, he and his associates aided post-Hurricane Katrina reconstruction in New Orleans by surveying more than 20,000 historic structures damaged by the storm, and by surveying the bottom of Lake Pontchartrain so that no historic shipwrecks would be affected by new levee construction.

Dr. R. Christopher Goodwin has enjoyed an award-winning career. Listed in Who's Who Among Outstanding Americans, he also was accorded the National Trust for Historic Preservation's National Preservation Honor Award. Likewise, the Maryland Historical Trust honored him with its Educational Excellence Award.
