INSPIRE Job Description
Experienced level, non-exempt position, BA/BS (w/ 1-3 yrs exp), MS (w/ 0-2 yrs exp). Expected to perform technical tasks at a skilled level, performs technical component or aspect of individual projects with supervision from senior scientists or project managers. Requires ability to contribute to reports, collect data with minimal direction, perform QC of data, reports, figures, etc. Expected to support multiple functional teams.
Job Functions
Lead Image Analyst
• Develops training material for training staff in the principles of SPI/PV image analysis
• Facilitates training in IA for staff; provides guidance and support for optimizing work flow
• Develops scripts for use in image analysis and to support processing and use of images
• Develops and updates Job Aids
Image Analyst
• Conduct SPI/PV analysis for projects across all sectors
• Conducts video analysis as needed
• Conducts accuracy, completeness, and quality checks of data before passing to QA
• Communicates with scientist conducting QA regarding questions, etc.
• Conducts image processing and management, including image metadata
• Maintains working knowledge of benthic ecology, CMECS principles, and application of these to image analysis
• Documents task status in Team Gantt as required by Projects; alerts project or line manager if a potential issue with a deadline is anticipated
Graphic Design and Marketing Support
• Develops graphic materials to support technical reports, scientific manuscripts, and marketing materials (presentations, posters, and brochures)
• Creates videos and other digital content to support marketing efforts
Field Technician
• Maintain credentials for field survey work, such as training and health and safety
• Participate in field surveys as support technician, which may require extended time periods at sea and working 12-hr shifts during 24-hr ops

This eight week field course was located in the lower Salmon River canyon of west-central Idaho. Sites investigared produced evidence of early cultural occupation. Most notably, the Cooper's Ferry site resulted in the discovery of a cache of stemmed points and lithic tools, which have been dated to ~13,000 years ago.
