He studied Marketing and Advertising at Los Libertadores University in Bogotá and he has worked in three of the biggest agencies in Colombia; Ogilvy & Mather, Sancho BBDO and Leo Burnett, where he is currently the General Creative Director.

During his 11 years experience in advertising, A.K.A Mimo, has already won 174 national and international awards, including several New York Festivals, One Show, D&AD, Clio, London International Awards and 14 Cannes Lions in different categories such as Press, Media Innovation, Promo, Health, Direct, Activations, Radio, Outdoor and Cyber, this last one being the first Cannes Lions Cyber Award in Colombia. He also has the First Prize Award awarded by the ONU at New York Festivals, has the first Grand Prix in radio in the Ojo de Iberoamérica for Colombia and has a Grand Prix in New York Festivals. He occupied the 218th place in The Worlds Largest Creative Ranking - 2013, and is one of the most awarded creatives in Colombia.

He has been jury in New York Festivals, Ojo de Iberoamérica, FIAP and Cannes Young Lions. He has worked for important brands such as Visa, Davivienda, SABMiller, Coca-Cola, Unilever, Nestlé, British American Tobacco, Sony, El Tiempo, Kimberly, Kia Motors, WWF, GSK, Getty Images and Mattel.
