Design Thinking Studio was one of the winning projects from CICaixa2010 (A contest to promote new ideas for the creation of innovative companies and promoting qualified entrepreneurship and innovation within the Algarve region), fostered by Algarve University, CRIA and Caixa Geral de Depósitos.

Our Studio has as principle Design Thinking methodology (collaborative work tool used to identify work problems and developing visual communication projects, centered in real life experiences with the participation of clients/users). As designers we believe in design as an intervener creating products, services or brands but also as an improvement into a better concept, adding values and meanings easily understood by everyone.

The study, analysis and proper definition of all communication and information elements, cause the expression of each work developed by our studio to communicate, identify and distinguish the specificities of every work.

We work with several types of projects in terms of visual communication design (Editorial Identity, Typography, Illustration, Posters and Web), for public or private market (Public Cultural Services, Municipalities, Public or Cultural Associations, Higher Education Institutes, Health Institutions, Transport Services, Tourism, Social Communication or Industry).

Design being a tool should be seen as an aggregation of values and support to the development of territories, communities and persons, we project design programs that may contribute to the development of sustainable services or products, based on social, ecological or environmental responsibilities, supporting interaction and progress of less favoured communities.

Through our work methodology in the perspective of ensuring quality to our work, we implement and manage all stages of the design process till its final production, managing and fulfilling all its deadlines.

Our working process is based in Design Thinking workflow methodology, phased in six structural stages:
Definition
The first stage aims to define a specific problem in terms of communication for a particular product or service.

Observation
After defining the problem, an observation is made about the experience or behavior and use of the product/service by its users. Across this stage we gather reliable information regarding their real experiences and needs. This step involves the active participations of all stakeholders and developed and managed by our Studio through the use of opinion reports/records, interviews, photography, video or inquiries.

Analysis
We proceed with the analysis of all gathered information, providing clues and data for the development of the most suitable design methodology to apply in the case study. A study is made with all the collected data, obtaining patterns and correlations in order to find appropriate solutions to communication strategies.

Design
Followed by selection of ideas for the final prototype, given all data obtained in previous stages. All design methodology process is studied, developed and implemented, analyzing in detail all the questions in terms of concept, graphic quality, graphic style, semantic compatibilities, sustainability, versatility, effectiveness, reliability, readability, understandability, pregnancy, uniqueness or deceivability.

Reconnaissance
Afterwards all question regarding usability, costs and innovation are verified, thereby to define what conditions are required to project implementation.

Implementation
At last, we implement and manage the project, in order to analyze its success through initially proposed objectives. Read Less
