Axon Vibe

Senior Designer

Senior designer working with partners, product owners and users to envision creative concepts that can leverage location-based contextual insight, delivering delightful and valuable consumer experiences. As part of the design team, we worked closely with the mobile and engineering teams, co-ordinating via Jira and Confluence. Often working around two week sprints, designs and specs were produced in Sketch App for both iOS and Android platforms, often alongside Marvel, InVision, Principle or Pixate prototypes (depending on interaction complexity) and always reflecting best practice of Material Design and HIG.

Highlights include working within a small team to research, define and create a design system for Axon's proprietary smart assistant technology. The design system was prototyped and A/B tested upfront with a selection of users to help guide design decisions and create a dynamic and user friendly interface. The assistant design system was then applied to various projects such as the SBB Travel Assistant and Sojo mobile apps, contextually driven apps that utilise cutting edge data science to surface relevant content to users.

Red Ninja

Senior Designer

Senior Designer at Red Ninja Studios, leading the design team and heading up large web and mobile app development projects for clients such as ARM, Comic Relief, FACT and University of Liverpool. My initial role involved helping to re-establish Red Ninja as a leading design and technology agency, by establishing new studio processes, training staff and with the team, helping to define a culture and brand that reflects its ambitions.

I have played a key role in the development of Red Ninja's co-creation approach to design; a pioneering brand, design and development process that has received national recognition for best practice.

As well as taking design lead on many high profile projects, I have provided front end code (HTML5, CSS3) that meets best practice and ensures a consistent, accessible user experience across mobile and tablet devices.

With innovative technology being a core value of Red Ninja, I have been heavily involved in the Technology Strategy Board funded Internet of Things Demonstrator project, involving the design of web app's that simplify big data in a manner that provides real value to users.
