Artist, Illustrator and Designer Definitely mary
I am a UK-based artist who earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Communication from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia in 1998.
I earned my PGCE and teach students adult and teens design and illustration. I have also studied counselling where I worked with several charities and non profit organisations in a means to help others using Art as tool for therapy.
My paintings are characterised by a playful narrative and an intuitive approach that encourages viewers to explore the world around them. I have exhibited my work in locations across the globe, including Brighton, Bournemouth, London and Singapore. I also sold an artwork to a well-known figure from a band named 'The Jam.'
Several of my Graphic illustration commission works include reality shows such as Gas Monkey, Orange County Choppers and album covers Space Ibiza.
I love designing logos, and have worked with several small businesses around the Dorset area. My skill set is in illustration, and graphic design. I work both digitally and hands on.
If I were to sum up my work, I do not limit my style, but rather see it as a journey of self-expression. I love working with different mediums and textural surfaces, exploring the use of vivid colours and detail.
Instead of limiting my style, I embrace it as a journey.

Definitelymary At Pen And Ink Studios
Owner, Artist of Pen and Ink
This business was situated in the heart of Pokesdown, Dorset. The business was a cute little store that sold Art, Coffee and Vintage clothing.
The shop was also a place for meetings and charitable events. I worked with charities doing art workshops in store. I held open mic nights, and vinyl evenings for small business and charities. I planned art events, whilst serving a fair amount of coffee in my 40/50s setting.
Sadly due to personal circumstances I had to resign the store.

Retail Manager
I started with the company on a Part time basis, within a year I was made manager of the Southampton branch and then had the opportunity to work full time manager in Brighton.
The branch was a small store with 4 employees and until the store closed we where still the original employees. My role was to buy and sell season stock, oversee stock control, authorising the rota on a fortnightly basis, dealing with HQ, admin work such as inventory, stock checks, daily figures, value reporting, reaching and setting targets, budgeting stock, entering stock list and creating new inventory stock.
