Darrell Dean

Toronto, Ontario, Canada
I have been performing web and graphic design, personal, hired and pro bono, for over 13 years, using the Adobe CreativeSuite as well as Microsoft Office and related products. I was also employed as a graphic designer with the Saint Mary’s University Students‘ Association and as Communications Assistant to the Dean of Science during my undergraduate degree, both positions requiring the generation of print communications.

I have been awarded on multiple occasions for my scientific communication abilities and this can be credited, in part, to my design skills. I am also confident coding in both HTML and CSS, and have developed a number of websites ranging in size from 1–20+ pages, including user interface design, navigation mapping and content development.

While my formal education is in Chemistry (with my Ph.D. to be completed by mid May), throughout my post- secondary career, I have given countless presentations, including posters, slideshow presentations and videos. This involves the design of media, including the visualization of scientific data, and the presentation of the material to audiences with a myriad of backgrounds.
