I was grown in artistic family. I used to see how my father creates assemblages using wood and semiprecious stones. I was grown in artistic family. I used to see how my father creates assemblages using wood and semiprecious stones. Also his passion to collect old things induced me to stay in his working place to play with the tools or to dress my self into antique dresses. These childhood memories and feelings became a miniature of my today's perception.

I work now as a freelance artist, creating pieces that could enchant, make the viewer think and dream. I easily can imagine my jewellery in a futurological movie or public event where it could be worn by urban princess or prince. There are certain emotions in my works: self-sufficiency, pride and excitement.

Darja has also launched a Start-up called JEWELUM with two colleagues. It is online store, where a special selection of modern jewelry made by talented designers and craftsmen from different corners of the world.
