My journey as a designer
My whole career has been around branding and advertising. When I started as a design student, my goal was to master every aspect of Illustrator and Photoshop so I could work as efficiently as possible. Later on I started to wonder, How to connect every aspect of design? The answer for me was branding. In 2014 for my college student intern I got into the UNE Telco branding in-house for one year.
From 2014 to 2021 my position was always for the in-house brand management and content creation, I went through 2 rebrandings which for a company the size of Tigo was a huge amount of craft and experiences; my work consisted in the design of almost anything new for the brand, whole advertising campaigns, Google Ads, billboards, institutional messages, B2B, brand awareness, events and almost anything around the whole country. The knowledge collected in those 7 years is invaluable for me, helping the brand to be a better communicator taught me plenty.
I'm proud to say that I went from studying oil painting and traditional art and Illustrator before 11th grade (2006), to working in one of the most challenging categories as a brand analyst for the 2nd biggest telco in Colombia, with the love and respect from my peers to my work.
