Cristina Vargas is a young architect who completed her five year Bachelor of Architecture degree from Universidad San Francisco de Quito (Quito – Ecuador) in 2007. In 2010 she founded her own architectural studio CRISTINA VARGAS ARQUITECTURA. Currently in the year 2015, she holds a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from GSAPP - Columbia University, New York.

Her professional experience in Ecuador – South America and her academic postgraduate degree from Columbia University allowed this young architect to broad her perspective related to design. She was born and raised in South America. Consequently, she has been exposed to cultural diversities which allowed this young architect to question, adapt, re-think and explore new possibilities of architectural design in a globalized world.

Cristina is an adaptive and fearless explorer of ideas. One of her main sources of inspiration when designing is trying to understand how local specificities play a huge role among the design process which are finally reflected into the built environment globally. She is always encouraged to learn, reinvent, rethink, and question her own practice. Read Less
