Cory Anne Sharer

Correspondence Designs

Cherry Valley, NY, USA
After studying children's book illustration and bookbinding at the Rhode Island School of Design, I graduated in 2006 with a BFA in Illustration. I have since gone on to become a graphic/web designer and curator at The Cooperstown Art Association Galleries in upstate New York. I now have 6 years experience in web/graphic design including book design, logos, branding and creating the look and feel for fundraisers, exhibits and companies. I am proficient in HTML, CSS, Photoshop and Illustrator. I've had a life long fascination with design, pattern and creation and have tried my hand at all three. A lot of my early illustrations were influenced by cultural textile traditions, organic shapes, and dynamic compositions and these influences have made their way into graphic design. I hope you enjoy my work!

Work Experience

Cooperstown Art Association

Graphic/Web Designer and Assistant Curator

I am currently the Assistant Director at the Cooperstown Art Association Galleries. As the gallery is a small non-profit charity, working there has called upon all my skills. My responsibilities include: graphic and web design for promotional mailings, event posters, stationary & business cards, etc. The initial design and maintenance of the website as well as a social presence across the web. Writing press releases, accounting, curating, fundraiser and event organization and public relations. This job has allowed for the creation of new projects and ideas and the experience of creating them from start to finish. I have just completed an Art Cook Book which will be printed by the organization and sold as a fundraiser. The book includes recipes from many of our opening receptions and member artists and will feature full color artwork by these artists spread throughout.
