I started young.

As a 13 year old, my solution to upping my social status was to dive into web design to personalize my social profiles. For my birthday that year, I received Macromedia Studio 2004.

By the time I finished high school, I had taught myself not only Macromedia Fireworks, but HTML and CSS as well. And by then, I was designing social profiles not only for myself, but for dozens of other people in online communities. Design was part of me now, and I wasn't going to miss the opportunity to turn it into a career.

Broadening Horizons.

My self-taught knowledge of design tools was broadened with La Roche College's strong emphasis on theory and the design process. The expertise I received at La Roche, coupled with my growing skill set in front-end development, allowed me to bring my print-and-theory-focused education into the digital world. Read Less
