When I was really young, I used to sit upstairs in my bedroom and make books. The first book I ever designed was called The Magic Spoon; I have no memory of what it was about (but I DO remember the cover design!)I graduated from The University of Miami with a BS in Communications, and after an incredibly short stint at WLRN as an intern, I chucked the idea of my future in broadcasting.

Passionate about photography, got a job at BWC Chrome Labs (Remember Kodachrome?) which led to the discovery of Photoshop in the early 90s. I was smitten. In 1996 I opened Alaskan Star Interactive with my partner Gonzalo Miranda.

I started teaching at Miami Ad School in 1998 – and loved it. It remains to be one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.

I left Alaskan to pursue a career in freelance graphic design, which allowed me to do more varied projects. I really wanted to work with more tools and feel the satisfaction of holding something that I created. Today with my studio Cherimoya Tree design, I work on projects that are varied and in all mediums.

Miami is where I, and my wonderful husband Juan, call home. I love this city even with it’s horrendous traffic, muggy Septembers, and giant mosquitos.
