FIBERS & DYEING
Learned the properties of each type of fiber and which dye process is required for each.
Learned different dyeing techniques such as Shibouri, clamp dyeing and silver lamé burnout.
Final project required the development of a fabric for end use including colorways, fabric construction, and choice of appropriate fibers and finishing techniques.
MACHINE & STOLL KNITTING
Became skilled at using domestic Brother knitting machines, learning how to develop punch cards, create volume and textures, and shape garments.
Studied Stoll machinery and programming, creating samples and a final gown.
APPAREL TECHNIQUES
Studied Sewing Techniques and Pattern-making at FIT.
Continued with Cut & Sew studies at RISD, developing and constructing a final look.
COMPUTER ASSISTED DESIGN
Developed a collection of fabrics for apparel over the course of 12 weeks.
Learned how to use CAD software to develop prints and apply them to sketches in order to create a finished presentation of our collection.
