Connor Fenwick

Chicago, IL, USA
I am a Chicago-based visual artist and photographer. I sculpt with language and light. I fill the space.

My practice questions authenticity, identity, and human nature. I believe that people are art and that everything else is adornment. I seek to augment, document, represent, transport, and compliment various people and their individual histories and identities, in addition to my own. Artists that inform my work include Craig McDean, Annie Leibovitz, Inez & Vinoodh, Shirin Neshat, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Jenny Holzer, and Julia Hetta.

Primarily a photographer, I have taken photographs for advertising, public relations, fashion, and gallery spaces, for print, web, and social media. I employ diverse and nuanced technical knowledge, compositional rules, and artistic ability with each project, and I believe that my leadership style, drive, and adaptability are among my strongest assets.
