Freelance Graphic Designer

At Project Group! I was able to work on a variety of projects. A few included business cards, flyers, packaging layouts, and photographing with retouching. The main focus of my position with this global manufacturing company was to shoot hundreds of products, then prepare images and deliver to various vendors, each with different specifications. This was my first freelance position in NYC and when I started, I hit the ground running, tackling multiple projects at a time. Each day it was unknown what project would come next, or how soon they needed it. Everything was urgent and there was never a break in action. I loved every second of it and thrived from the fast paced setting!

Ball Sate University

Woodshop/Fabrication Lab Assistant

During my undergraduate degree I worked in the Architecture building's wood shop/fabrication lab. I helped with daily maintenance of the lab, checking in/out tools, assigning laser cutting appointments, and assisting students with anything they might need concerning using the laser cutters or building models and other projects. If I was approached with a question I did not have the answer to, I made sure to quickly find the solution, whether it was research or even asking my boss or fellow employee. From this experience I added to my knowledge of various tools one would find in a wood shop and became very familiar with laser cutting machines.

Ball State University

Pride Guide Designer

During the Summer of 2010 I was hired by the Office of Student Life at Ball State University to redesign the Ball State Pride Guide. It is a campus publication that lists over 300 student activities and organizations on campus and includes contact information. This was my very first major design job as a student and I built the entire document from scratch. I began by contacting all of the organizations, asking for pictures and logos they wanted to include. For those that were unable to submit an image, I either took my own pictures or created vector based clip art for the organizations. I used InDesign to design the 37 spreads (72 pages), Photoshop to edit the images, and Illustrator to create the vector art. I was also in charge of the printing aspect and met with the in-house printer to complete the job. 10,000 copies were printed and distributed to the campus.
