Casey received three awards in her graduating year at university being:

-The Design Institute of Australia and the University of Canberra Interior Architecture Award for Academic Excellence and Outstanding Achievement

-The University of Canberra Interior Architecture Award For a positive and generous contribution to the culture of the Interior Architecture course

-The Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design Award for Academic Excellence

-2000 Design Institute of Australia Australasian Student Design Award.

The skills gained from WAAPA include painting monstrous sets, backdrops and props, carpentry, metalwork (welding), sculpting, fibre-glassing, upholstery and sewing.

Casey then worked as a freelance scenic artist and props maker in Perth for TV commercials, musicals,theatre, film and art festivals and also worked as a commercial scenic artist creating murals. Thereafter,exhibiting her own work in several art exhibitions in Sydney and gaining representation by an art gallery.

Casey aesthetic is described as being melancholic and romantic and this can be seen in her artwork and interior architecture.

‘shades of lightness’ (sell out first exhibition in 2008) was a series of portrait-style charcoal drawings and mixed media paintings, which were manipulated through the use of shading in an attempt to create a feeling of reflection and contemplation.
The painting which won the Musique Art competition in Dec 2009, ‘Constance’, was inspired by D.H.Lawrence’s ‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover’. ‘Constance’, makes direct reference to the character of Constance Chatterley who, as her name suggests, puts into question the constant but evolving desires of her heart.
