London, United KingdomCarlos Martin (Valencia, 1985) studied in Valencia at the Cardenal Herrera University. He lives and works in London since 2011 when he started to collaborate in different in different companies such a Afroditi Krassa, BarberOsgerby and Harry Dobbs Design. At the same time, he worked with Raúl Blanco at Martiniblanco Studio. In spring 2014 he founded his own studio, Carlos Martin Design.
His approach is based on the “Paperclip Process”. He understands Design as a deep research of the society, culture and human behaviour in order to obtain useful information. Afterwards, he develops experiences and shapes achieving coherent designs. In other words, the design is adapted to the users by studying their environment and habits. All this process, together with a synthesis of the contemporary aesthetic and an honest use of materials, leads the way to the search of the archetype: designing with as little design as possible.
On the other hand, nothing is left to chance, all the elements have been thought down to the last detail. There is always a strong reason why each component, each texture have been used.
Member of the ADCV and with a strong multidisciplinary background, he works in all the different fields of product design. Besides, he also collaborates in other ranges of design such as consulting, art direction or branding, under a studio called LAP.

We are a brand that offers household goods that use only one material for its development.
We aim to create fresh objects that endow every home of a new, friendlier, cleaner and more sustainable personality. In this way, and trying to capture our Mediterranean origins, we try to achieve this goal following two different ways that run concurrently: on one hand, by creating timeless objects with a high added value and affordable prices.
On the other hand, and in a plain way, we declare our love for these materials. We believe in them and use them as a means of expression and creation of new objects. Our idea is to use those materials as a basis for product development, extracting their full potential.
In Maatt, we understand that a home is not the place where you live, but the place where you feel happy. Our human team is fresh and creative, with experience in industrial design and communication. We are born (but not focused exclusively) in Valencia and we want to work with design, development and communication products under the same conceptual vision. In this way, we try to achieve as much consistency as possible in every side and level of the brand.

Martiniblanco Studio
Owner and co-founder
Martiniblanco are Raúl Blanco and Carlos Martín. During the MA Industrial Design studies and the Furniture and Lighting master in the ESET from the University CEU Cardenal Herrera in Valencia they decided to build Martiniblanco.
After some years working separated for national and international design studios, and working for clients as British Airways, Vitra, Knoll, B&B or Flos, they starts a new year with a new and updated portfolio. Martiniblanco understands the design as a creative discipline that does like a bridge between the other Arts.
The design has the final user as the top, without loosing the watching to the reality that is around us and its characteristics.
The objective is to make durables pieces, useful and welldone.
