ACCOMPLISHMENTS
During the 22 years of self-employment – and the entire Jack Welch years as CEO of General Electric – I produced an in-house corporate publication for an upper management GE organization – The Elfun Society (“Elfun” short for Electrical Fund) – which promoted volunteerism among its 30,000+ members. I worked with five different editors and oversaw the publication’s move from print to web.
For the last 11 years, I helped elevate the status of Strategies, a business education company, by designing four business leadership books with the company’s CEO and its publication editor. In the last year of employment, I spearheaded the installation of a digital signage system with the director of business development.

Graphic Communication
Self-Employed
North Haven & Deep River, CT
June 1983 - Aug. 2005
(A sampling of the many print projects I produced over this time period before the advent of the internet and digital marketing.)

• General Electric Company (Corporate Headquarters, Fairfield, CT)
22 years producing an in-house magazine that promoted volunteerism in the many communities in which GE had plants or offices. Worked with five different editors. The publication was distributed to 30,000+ upper-level manager who were tasked with leading volunteer programs in their local community. As the internet grew in popularity and importance, the magazine was duplicated as a webzine.

• Zurich Re (Corporate Headquarters, New York City)
Worked directly with the Chief Operating Officer to create a memorable save-the-date promotion for his upcoming 2000 annual conference. I developed three concepts. The winning promotion was a wooden pear-shaped box. When opened revealed an announcement that played on Millennium fears:
“Y2K Enough Dire Predictions :: Z2K Just Solutions”

• High Hopes Therapeutic Riding, Inc. (Old Lyme, CT)
Annual report for a not-for-profit riding center that “offers equine-assisted programs to individuals of all ages who face physical, behavioral and developmental challenges.” The restricted budget meant two-color printing, but with a little persuasion a circular die-cut was added to the cover.

• Three Books for Yale Professor Dr. David Apter (New Haven, CT)
Dr. Apter traveled widely and witnessed many pivotal political changes around the world. A skilled photographer, he kept a photo journal wherever he went and towards the end of his teaching career, published with my graphic support three books that recorded his experiences.
