Work Experience

DDB New Zealand

Lead Creative Technologist

In this time I have worked on project for Cadbury, Moro, Coastguard, Hutchwilco, Telecom, Sky Tv, Mcdonalds, Flybuys, ANZ, Westpac, Watties, Tourism Australia, Yellow, Lotteries, Lion Nathan and Volkswagen.

In this role I have done everything from banner builds to full scale sites. I have also recently developed an iOS app for the coastguard and Hutchwilco using Air with native extensions, with mobile facebook intergraded into it. I have also made an iOS app for Flybuys for a relaunch of their existing app.

Another part of this role is to make rapid prototypes / proof of concepts. I work closely with creatives and creative director to get the best ideas out of the technologies and show them new ideas / tech, such as smart tvs. One prototype was connecting a flash front end with a ruby back end via sockets with the data been past as bytearrays (binary) to make passing of large amounts of data almost instantaneous. I have experimented with the new web technologies such as html5, webgl, createJS (canvas).

In this time I have made prototypes with Arduinos. One in particular was an experiment with NFC to enable an Arduino to communicate with a smartphone.
