The Mission of the Department of Art is to support and enhance the University’s “educational process” in a dynamic mode by offering learning opportunities in Art to the people of Southwest Oklahoma through appropriate degree programs and concomitant service curricula and activities.

The Department embraces student learning as the essential component of its programs and is, therefore, a predominate factor in determining program quality and teaching effectiveness. Paramount too, is a belief by faculty that the Department’s programs should manifest to students that the pursuit of knowledge is a lifelong endeavor leading to one’s potential in life. Read Less
