By my own choice, my name is Bran Sólo. I was born in Spain in 1985. I’m a good person, artist, painter, designer and photographer, among many other things I never wanted to be.

I worked for seven years as a database analyst and programmer in a windowless room. Obviously, and for several reasons, I finally decided to do with my life what from the beginning I came to do with it: compose, not create, disturbing images and relevant stories. I studied at the Art School of Murcia, where I discovered that a condition of sight, since childhood, makes me see things in a different way. For me there is no contrast between black and white, light changes the shape of things, background can be figure and I have never seen the full moon as you surely see it.

I move between Madrid, Barcelona, Seville and Murcia. I’ve lived everywhere and I have not stayed anywhere. I like science, art, nature, sex and sport. I’m in love and I don’t get better.

In 2010 I participated in the official program of events of the European Biennial of Contemporary Art: Manifesta, in its eighth year, with an exhibition at the space hall of Mazarrón, and since then, my work has been recognized by several media and spanish curators.

In 2015 I made my first solo exhibition, Perfume de flor de cuchillo (Knife’s flower perfume), in Malaga, and I keep painting, showing, and giving workshops sporadically.

Recently, I have auto produced my last project, the Tarot of Laguna, a work of research and personal development based on the foundations of the psychoanalysis.

At the moment, I research on the relationship between science and art, for me, inseparable, in addition to the interest for the graphic study of other issues such as masculinity, fear and human emotions. Read Less
