With a manual camera that he borrowed from a friend, Collin Patrick wandered the streets of Singapore where he began to uncover the art and science of photography. He captured various aspects of the city–from the mundane working crowd to the tall, steely landscapes. To refine his skills (and take better pictures of a girl he liked), Collin worked as an assistant photographer at one of Singapore’s leading commercial photography studios. At work, he not just developed his own brand of aesthetic, he also learned to build extensive sets which were often needed for commercial shoots. Since then, Collin has worked in several renowned photography studios and picked up various skills–digital re-touching, prop making– along the way. In 2004, Collin was given the opportunity to open up his own studio–Black. Black is a commercial photography studio, specialising in food, portraits, environment and products shots. Their clientele ranges from government bodies such as Singapore General Hospital, Singpost to multinational companies like Unilever, Seagate, World Kitchen and IKEA. Collin is currently based in Singapore. Read Less
