“To the man who loves art for its own sake, it is frequently in its least important and lowliest manifestations that the keenest pleasure is to be derived.”
(Arthur Conan Doyle)

In this website I draw and paint people, seascapes, and still lifes. They are familiar subjects to me and I enjoy using them in my work. And because they are familiar, it helps me to use a “merely by chance” approach. The incidental thinking with the incidental manner in style, and perhaps with the “in your face” positioning, and/or the haphazard placement with marks is interesting to me when I decide to draw and paint.
Incidental: Occurring merely by chance or without intention or calculation. (Dictionary)

Another Quote: “Creativity is more than just being different. Anybody can plan weird: that’s easy. What’s hard is to be as simple as Bach. Making the simple, awesomely simple, that’s creativity.” (Charles Mingus) Read Less
