Ben Stagl is an artist, custom product developer, and materials specialist. Actively producing and exhibiting original works that blur the boundaries between sculpture, architecture, and interior design since 1999, Stagl's projects have ranged in scale from the intimate to the civic, and are informed both by a rich education in classical traditions as well as a passion for advanced digital practices.

His presence in the cities of Portland, Oregon and Chicago, Illinois have earned him honors and inclusions in publications ranging from: The Oregonian, the Chicago Sun Times, and the New York Times. His artwork has been presented both nationally and internationally, and he currently works as a Development Consultant at West Supply, a design house, artisan service, and Industrial Arts Center located in Chicago, IL.

As a volunteer and community educator Stagl has worked with institutions such as the Portland Institute of Contemporary Art, the Pacific Northwest College of Art, and the Chicago Torture Justice Memorials Collective. In 2009 he served as Director of Portland Iron, Portland's first public iron pour demonstration at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. His projects have received support from the NW Regional Arts and Cultures Council, The Oregon Arts Commission, The Chicago Pop-Up Loop Alliance, and the Urban Institute for Contemporary Art in Grand Rapids.

His awards and achievements include- the Propeller Grant (2012), The School of the Art Institute of Chicago Grant (2010), the Career Opportunity Grant, Oregon Arts Commission (2009), 2005 the Civic Project Endorsement, Office of the Mayor Vera Katz of Portland, OR (2005)
