I work in the Digital, Data & Informatics (DDI) lab at the NHM, managing delivery of digital products for customers in the scientific community both internally and worldwide:
- Designing & developing digital services that meet needs of diverse user groups across both Earth and Life sciences which deliver against strategic objectives.
- Collaborating with colleagues in museum collections, research, data management and informatics to develop long-term product roadmaps and prioritized backlogs.
- Supporting ongoing mass-digitization of museum collections and the NHM Data Portal to ensure specimens and their associated data are preserved in an open format.

Working within an Agile framework with policy teams to design, deliver and improve their digital services.
Collaborating with colleagues in user research, business development and tech to produce complex service blueprints, implement user-centred practices, design, iteratively prototype, build and test new digital tools.
Using government service standards and patterns to assess the health of digital services.

Curating brand assets, including designing bespoke motion graphics templates and guidance.
Designing infographics, spot illustrations, videos and animations for a global internal communications audience.
Designing presentation decks for senior leadership.
Designing, wireframing, testing and building new team intranet sites.

Digital in-life reconstructions of European cave art and Homo erectus alongside mounted specimens for permanent display.

Working with the Marine licensing team to update and enhance their online content to meet specific user needs as part of a wider project to improve the organisation's digital offering.

Writing copy for GOV.UK to Government Digital Service standards & designing accompanying infographics.

Planning, modelling and testing enhancements to existing digital products.

Conducting UX and SEO reviews on all online content.

Managing production of marketing video and animation projects for titles including Nature journals, Scientific American and SpringerOpen journals.

Working closely with marketing colleagues from across the globe to develop projects to deliver key messages to target audiences.

Stakeholder engagement including working with preferred vendors to coordinate live shoots locally and remotely. Collaborating with internal editors to oversee post-production work and creation of animated on-screen graphics.

Responsible for guarding brand identities for individual imprints and ensuring consistency across team output. Responsibilities include acting as community manager for the Multimedia team’s internal intranet pages.

Designing infographics, corporate documentation and public facing campaign materials to government standards. Design & production of data visualization, marketing collateral and exhibition graphics to support the work of the agency’s three centres: CPRD, NIBSC and the MHRA.

Taking a lead role in raising the quality of content produced inhouse for key public health awareness campaigns: #FakeMeds and SCOPE

Line-managing the Comms division’s internal ‘People survey implementation group’ as part of the annual Civil Service People survey.

Design & production of cinematic opening stings and media-rich presentation slides for corporate events; including conferences, brand experiences, awards ceremonies and product launches.

Creation of storyboards, finished graphic assets and character animations & effects for interactive museum exhibits.

Production of concept visuals for several dinosaur exhibits as part of a proposed exhibition for the Singapore Museum of Art & Science. Consultant service on digital enrichment and interactivity for exhibition spaces (Hong Kong Space Museum).

Digital restoration of burial plans and field sketches from the 'Roche' archives (1952-5) and compilation of resulting vector images into an interactive presentation allowing scientists to view burial drawings in order and to scale for the first time.

Environment artist working on game titles online and later on iOS and Android platforms. Also production of character designs and incidental animations: Titles included 'Royal Beasts', the 'Kartfighter' series (I - III) and 'Ninja Trials'.
