My name is Miguel Queiroz. Having started drawing Comics at the age of 10 and making amateur films (Super-8) at the age of 15, my passion for Visual Arts was always present. However due to another strong inclination for wildlife and environmental causes, I ended up studying Forestry in my BA. In 1999 however, I quit Forestry for a job at a multinational Animation company (Neurones S.A.) where I completed a 1 year full time Cell Animation course.

I worked at Neurones S.A. as a Clean-Up Artist and In-Betweener, on animated feature films (Little Hippo) and TV series (Corto Maltese). From 2001 to 2004 I worked at LisbonWorks, Ltd in Motion Graphics and Compositing, for DVD Authoring. I simultaneously took a multimedia course at FLAG (a Media school). In 2004, I was invited to lead a DVD Authoring department at CristBet, Ltd.
In 2005 I started my own Media Production trademark and business: ARTIMEDIA - a studio for Film/Media Production and Web Development.

For the last 11 years, I've been producing Corporate Video and short Fiction Films for niche markets and some festivals. My work entered the IMDB Records in 2012 and has been featured in two documentaries about indie filmmaking for niche markets: One by the ARTE channel in 2014 and another one for Channel 4 in 2016. In 2015 I was invited to become a regular contributor for RedShark News, a technology publication for professionals in the moving images industry.

In 2013 I started a MA in Cinema Project Development at ESTC (Lisbon Film and Theatre School) which I interrupted when I moved to the United Kingdom, where I graduated in 2017 from Screen Academy Scotland (Edinburgh Napier University) in MA Film masters degree. Read Less
