Gabriel da Silva
Artist - Creative Director
Miami, FL, USARandom Consciousness is how I define my process, my work, and my life. Raised in the suburbs of São Paulo, I started to shape my style and my vision of the world through graffiti art, Hip Hop culture, American comics, and Japanese manga. I taught myself and improvised a lot, just like millions of other young people. Being Brazilian means achieving your goals with the resources you have, no matter how difficult it may be. That's why now my focus is on Brazilian culture, but with strong influences from Bruegel, Bosch, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, David Carson, Fauvism, Dadaism, European and Japanese art that has caused my freestyle mindset to grow. My imagery plays in this space in an almost childish way, with basic colors and shapes that sometimes hide another meaning. The “good feeling” one gets upon first sight could turn to talk about slavery, emotional contradictions, or profound trauma.
