Carse And Waterman

Storyboard and Concept Artist

Work experience for 1 week as a storyboard artist for an animated children’s film due to release in December 2019. This developed into a long-term position, with the role expanding into animation and concept art.

I developed storyboards for around 60% of the scenes using a script and rough drafts as a direction. Given that these were for an animated children's movie I worked in a pre-set, more cartoon-ish style. My work ranged from action scenes to conversations between characters to establishing sets.

Creating a promotional illustration for Ethereal's game 'Prowl'. This was to be handed out on flyers at EGX. I worked to a pre-determined style and atmosphere, creating preliminary concepts and developing these through to a final illustration.

2D Scientific Animator

Creating a digital 2D animation in Adobe Photoshop and After Effects to explain a new and complex scientific technique in a simple and easy to understand manner. The project involved a lot of back and forth between myself and the client to reach a final animation that was both accurate to the process but also able to be clearly understood by others.
