CSG Creative
Junior Graphic Designer
As a Junior Graphic Designer at CSG Creative, I learned to balance strict deadlines while still paying attention to details. The company allowed me many opportunities to collaborate with not only marketing teams but also creative artists to create tag lines and themed designs for trade show clients. Because I specialized in software skills of InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, I produced large page brochures, directories and animated web banners. I was honored when the company's second largest client selected my artwork to be the theme of their entire trade show. And because I am also an illustrator, clients have selected my designs over those created with stock photography and graphics.

Ratner Companies
Graphic Design Intern
If by chance you had your hair trimmed, dyed or highlighted at Salon Cielo two years ago, you just may have been admiring one of my product posters taped to the mirrors. Ratner Companies, owners of the largest hair salon chains like Hair Cuttery, Bubbles, and Salon Cielo, hired me as a design intern and freelancer. For this company, not only did I create product posters that appeared in salons throughout the United States, I also contributed to winter holiday interior graphics for salons. Imagining a fresh holiday theme without being cliche' was quite a challenge. But another team member and I developed a theme for not just one but two of the three main salons, and we succeeded in selling our original ideas to the marketing team.

VOX Global
Graphic Design Intern
The heartbeat of Washington DC is downtown on K Street where at the time VOX Global was located, and I was fortunate to be their intern. From Southland, a construction company, to VOX, a communication company, was a huge jump for an intern, but at VOX I leaned that graphic designers can make a difference in this world. I designed projects that promoted the need for clean water, the need for safe cellphone usage and many other current issues to help society. By designing several projects ranging from print and web for internal and external clients, I sharpened my skills in WordPress, PowerPoint, and InDesign.

Southland Industries
Graphic Design Intern
Southland sparked my dream of being a graphic designer by offering me my first glance into the world of business and the role a designer has in a company. Even though I was still a student at JMU, the managers allowed me to work as a graphic artist in the marketing department. In a team environment, I worked with internal and external clients to produce a number of projects. But, the greatest assignment was being the primary designer for a variety of projects like the company calendar, a program for a new building, an event poster for a client and charity event, and a poster for Human Resources. I also redesigned formal documents and internal business forms and created PowerPoint presentations for management use. Most valuable to my becoming a designer was traveling to external work sites as far as California and giving presentations to management. In one summer, I learned that designers are respected and admired.
