UI/UX Designer responsibilities include gathering user requirements, designing graphic elements and building navigation components.
1. Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers
2. Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
3. Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets
4. Build page navigation buttons and search fields
5. Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like
6. Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables)
7. Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
8. Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
9. Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
10. Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images

It is a part of the mass communication process which involves various skills such as technical skills holds prime importance.

Bachelor of Design [B.Des] in Communication Design is a 4-year full time (or equivalent part time) undergraduate course. The programme is divided into 8 semesters of six months each.

Graphic Design is a specialised branch of communication design, and candidates wishing to specialise in this need to start out with a degree in communication design, which would allow them to specialise in graphic design after second year. The entrance test for this course involves objective questions on colour, geometry, visual observations, creative thinking abilities, general design awareness, awareness on Indian culture, craft and traditions, etc. The test covers topics such as visualisation of 2D and 3D geometric shapes, observational, perceptual and reasoning abilities, creative and problem solving abilities, application of basic knowledge of science and mathematics, art, craft, culture, design, and environment.
