Designed costumes for the theater production of two plays, “The Sound of a Voice” and “The House of Sleeping Beauties” by David Henry Hwang. Both plays are set in Japan and uncover the dark side of human nature. Design inspiration came from traditional Japanese costumes, but made use of differently textured fabrics. Costume designs further updated play concepts by incorporating influences from other cultures, such as Indian Saris.

Designed costumes for the theater production of “Agnes of God” by John Pielmeire. The producer and director determined that this somewhat controversial play needed to restrict the use of overly religious costumes in order to be accepted by a wider audience. “Agnes of God” explores issues such as science versus religion, good versus evil, motherhood, abuse, miracles and faith. Design inspiration was taken from the science fiction perspective and incorporated more scientific conceptions such as the Princess Leia styled-costume from the popular movie “Star Wars.” This influence, when added to traditional religious garb, created the effect sought after by the production team
