As a student in the Fibers and Material Studies program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, I utilize affect in art to discuss themes of mental illness and trauma. I utilize stitch, hand-dying, and other laborious processes to deeply embed emotion into my work, much like emotion is embedded in each of us when an event strongly impacts our life.
