I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts, Design from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2010. I have 6+ years of experience working as a proactive and detail-oriented designer and art director in Honolulu for companies and organizations including: HONOLULU Magazine, Interisland Terminal, Hello Makana, and Stacey Leong Design. I am a proud member of AIGA—the professional association for design—and served on the board of AIGA Honolulu for six years and as president for 4 years. I am an advocate for the Hawaii design community and was called upon by several organizations for my thoughts and facilitation.

Though I've been honored with several awards and recognitions, my greatest accomplishment is initiating and working in the trenches to launch Honolulu Design Week in 2013, a biennial week-long suite of events that mobilizes, inspires, educates, and celebrates design. It was the result of working with and empowering a board of 9 community leaders and numerous volunteers, in addition to the fostering strategic partnerships with design vendors, media, and key organizations. Additionally, I've helped to launch two creative and collaborative community spaces in Honolulu, R/D (now closed) and Kakaako Agora.

I've spent years leading and working in the community, so now I'm focusing on my career. I took a leap of faith and left eternal sunshine and warm, deep-blue ocean for progressive San Francisco. I'm passionate about tech; specifically what tech and design can do for good. I seek to work for a company that is agile and innovative, and values design at the top level. I seek to be in a position where I will contribute my best work, yet still be challenged and prompted to grow. Read Less
