St. George Art Museum

Art Museum Specialist - Education

Docent Liaison. I worked with the Education Committee and helped coordinate the Docents for Washington County School District 4th and 5th grade tours and other special tours for the art museum. I was part of the team that provides training, including developing and providing training materials, for the docents. Also, I worked with the Education Committee to plan events for the docents.

I developed and planned activities for the Family Discovery Center. I created any graphics for the center, including signage and learning or activity materials. The activities reflected the current exhibits and provided a place for exploring, creativity and learning.

I was part of the team that did the Summer Culture Class. We taught kids through lecture and activities that involved art history in certain time periods. 2017 was Ancient Greece. We developed the activities and lectures. I organized and managed the materials for the class, including supplies for the activities and worksheets.

I helped plan and execute events for the museum. Events such as the Twenty for 20 events for 2017 and the monthly Poetry Jam are events that I set in motion. When needed I created flyers for the events and handled some of the social media and marketing resources to promote the events.

I maintained and managed the gift shop including ordering product and inventory management.

I did any other task needed.

Blue Raven Art Studio-Gallery

Artist-in-Residence

Studio creative space at Blue Raven Art Gallery-Studio was located in the Coyote Gulch Art Village in the Kayenta Desert Community in Ivins, Utah. It was a shared space with 8 other artists. It closed October 2018.

At this studio, I had the opportunity to create art in a designated space and then it is displayed for sale on the wall in my designated spot. I create art pieces in many mediums. I use oil, acrylic, watercolor, pen and ink, charcoal and mixed media. I displayed my photography pieces as well. I managed my own wall gallery space.

It is also a teaching studio. I had the opportunity to organize art classes for others to take or art classes for me to teach.

While I was there working on my artwork, I greet customers that come in. I would talk to them about the artwork that is displayed; either my own or other Artist In Residence's work, and explain about the studio. Handled any artwork sales when needed.
