My name is Alexandria Borruso. I am an ambitious Graphic Designer and Printmaker based out of Nashville, Tennessee with a degree in Advertising and Graphic Design. I have several years of professional experience working as a press operator, working my way into my current role as Operations/Prepress Specialist. I have a passion for typography, creating promotional graphics such as event calendars and menu boards or anywhere where I can best organize information! Operations and Prepress Specialist

Primary responsibilities include the output of all film and poly plate material for Offset and Engraving presses. Utilizing network + all image processing systems through RIP software (including copiers, imagesetters and printers) All digital preparation, output hardware and software used in prepress managed through Adobe creative suite. Determines page layout, accounting for folds, trims, bleeds, stroke and gripper, adding crop marks and color bars as necessary. Preparing multiple color jobs with spot color separations and registration marks.

Works closely with a number of outside vendors to keep up with overflow work. Prepares artwork based on vendor needs while maintaining production times. Finds ways to cut costs by ganging artwork onto 18 x 24 16 gauge copper sheets.

Typesets copy changes and performs design & layout work for commercial clients, providing proofs and maintaining a record of templates.

Identify missing or problematic components and communicates them to the CSR, customer, and production personnel. Works closely alongside designers to ensure a healthy flow of communication throughout the job flow, troubleshooting where necessary.

Secondary responsibility being the Primary Digital Press Operator for the OKI white ink C942 printer. In charge of running all digital addressing for a variety of envelopes. Effectively merges customer provided variable data in the form of an Excel spreadsheet within Indesign data merge tool. Utilizes Indesign master page and character styles to typeset and create a proof that is cohesive alongside multiple processes.
Alongside other stationery such as invitations, announcements, sympathies, etc. the OKI requires a high level of color management skills and the ability to color match using PMS, ensuring cohesive color matching across multiple printing processes.
