One purpose of my work is to intensify the relationship between image and text, between photography and literature, building bridges between them in order to create something new: a new way of communication as well as a new knowledge. In my opinion, photography should not be a mere visual representation of reality, but it should also be enhanced with conceptual content. It must be a combination of two worlds; the world of the senses and the world of reason.

As viewers, we have become accustomed to seeing very direct photographs that expose reality as a reflection without going beyond its faithful representation. My aim is to produce a type of photography that creates a complex and alternative reality, full of meaning. In order to achieve this, I understand photography as a language in which a message is transmitted. This message, composed of image and concept, is designed to reach the spectator’s mind as a photo-idea that sparks a semantic explosion.

My works are not mere illustrations of a text: they seek to represent an interpretation; a personal view, a critique, an irony, a game, a new twist. It is a photography that holds a dialogue and interacts poetically with the text, creating images with a wide range of possible analyses. It is an open, shifting, gestating photography, with an expanding meaning that ceaselessly multiplies itself like rippling wavelets in a pond. Read Less

I was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1980. As a child, I was always interested in art, mostly in painting. I started drawing and completed my first painting at the age of ten. My passion for the visual arts has always been apparent, since an early age I have enjoyed playing with artistic materials and expressing myself intuitively.

When I was fifteen, I had the opportunity to discover the process of developing photographic prints, and I taught myself the laboratory technique and its basics. In 1998, I began studies related to the world of images. At that time, I was especially keen on film. I studied cinema, television and photography theory and technique in Barcelona (CFGS Image). In the year 2000, at the conclusion of my studies, I started working with the renowned photographer, Rafael Vargas, as assistant and photographer. This position lasted for six years.

In 2006, I made the decision to become a freelance professional and dedicate myself to advertising photography. For seven years, I carried out commissions for world renowned companies and major advertising agencies, such as OgilvyOne Worldwide. It was a very fruitful period, in which I learned a lot about photography as a profession, since I dealt with many different topics. This experience gave me a deeper knowledge of photographic techniques.

In 2013, I relocated to Mexico. This was a key decision for my development. At that time, I started to prepare a serious artistic project and spent two years reflecting on the necessary conditions to build my work up, researching the subjects of art, philosophy and poetry. In 2015, I began to study philosophy at the UNED Spanish University’s branch in Mexico, with the intention to further deepen the theoretical aspect of my work. Read Less
