Since 2007, as an individual designer and co-author with several other authors such as the architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, my large-scale works is correlated to the development of projects related to transport including the 1st place in the contest for the high-speed Line, section Poceirão/Caia on the Lisbon-Madrid axis. I also held the technical feasibility study of implementation of a VLT subway system in Cuiabá-Várzea Grande in Brazil, the International Contest for Intermodal Station of Ourense in Spain, the International Contest of Intermodal and Commodities Station Caia /Badajoz, and the International Competition for the High-Speed Line Lisbon/Poceirão section in the Lisbon-Madrid axis. I have also participated in the contest of contract for the design and construction of the new Águas Santas tunnel on the Porto/Amarante freeway.

In the development of urban revitalization some projects stand out, namely the Rehabilitation of the Historic Centre of Ribeira Grande in Azores as well as the Ordainment Plan of the Hydrographical Basin of Lagoa das Sete Cidades and the development of the Waterfront Project of Lagoa das Sete Cidades, both works on São Miguel Island, Azores. I also have developed housing projects with diverse typologies, from single family housing, collective housing, condos and controlled cost housings as well school buildings.

The work I have done between 1992 and 2006, in the office of the architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, allowed me to meet, develop and coordinate a vast and broad variety of projects such as the development and re-qualification of urban spaces and, between 1999 and 2006, the coordination of the work in the Metro do Porto project.
Initiating my career in 1992, in the office of the architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, early my work passed through coordination, such as the upgrading of the urban centre of Maia city, the development and coordination of Chiado Shopping Centre in Lisbon and the coordination of the Metro do Porto project, which includes the projects of the buried stations, the urban insertion of surface metro stations system and the refurbishment of urban spaces related to the work.

Adriano Pimenta

Adriano Pimenta is an architect with over 20 years of practice in the elaboration of projects and, since 1997 connected to the development of work related to urban planning, transportation systems, housing and public spaces.

The work he has done between 1992 and 2006, in the office of the architect Souto de Moura, allowed him to meet, develop and coordinate a vast and broad variety of projects such as the development and re-qualification of urban spaces and, between 1999 and 2006, the coordination of the work in the Metro do Porto project.

Since 2007 he’s settled in his own office where the projects undertaken comprehend and include transport systems, plans and urban waterfronts requalification’s, refurbishment and preservation of the heritage, development of housing typologies such as houses, condos and office buildings, manufacturing typologies and school buildings.

All projects are developed emphasizing the teamwork with the developers, engineers, consultants, clients and public participation.

Recognition and Service

Finalist in the design of the Intermodal Station of Ourense, Spain, along with the architect Eduardo Souto de Moura and João Alvaro Rocha in 2011.
1st prize in the International Competition of Design/Construction of the High-Speed Line Poceirão/Caia, in 2008 with the architect Eduardo Souto de Moura.
