Adriana Kertzer is a New York-based design entrepreneur, curator, digital product manager, strategist, and writer.

Her first book, “Favelization”, was published by the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in February 2014. Kertzer was recently the Senior Advisor to the Senior Deputy Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts in Washington, DC. Prior to that, she was a Curatorial Assistant and Digital Strategist at the Museum of Arts and Design, focusing on the exhibit New Territories: Laboratories for Design, Craft and Art in Latin America.

Kertzer has also worked at Parsons The New School For Design, Cooper Hewitt, and the auction house Phillips. In her previous career as a lawyer, Kertzer was Acting Assistant General Counsel at The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and a capital markets lawyer at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett focusing on Brazilian IPOs. She still enjoys assisting artists with legal matters and is a member of the New York Bar. Adriana was born in São Paulo, Brazil and is fluent in Portuguese, English and Italian.

She has an M.A. in the History of Decorative Arts & Design from Parsons The New School For Design, a J.D. from Georgetown University, and a B.A. from Brown University. Read Less
