With over ten years of experience, I am a focused, highly creative, website designer and front-end developer. Throughout my career I have managed and assisted with a variety of projects by continuously adapting and taking on new challenges, including working on a freelance basis. I have a real passion for the industry and my key skills include UX design, UX development, UI design, CMS integration, CMS skinning, HTML email templating, graphic design, and photography.

I have a working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JS, and a basic knowledge of PHP. I have worked with all the leading platforms including WordPress, Magento, and ExpressionEngine. I also have an extensive knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and of the latest industry technologies.

From creating design concepts, rapid prototyping wireframe concepts, developing fully functional front end websites, to reviewing the user journey so we are able to fully understand how and where improvements can be made. I work closely with colleagues and clients to ensure the business requirements are met in all areas of the project.

With the ability to work to tight deadlines, competent interpersonal skills, innovative ideas and knowledge of new technologies, I am a self-motivated individual who embraces projects of any proportion.

Brash New Media

Website Designer & Front End Developer

Working for a group of companies where I took on a variety of challenges including reconstructing one of the company’s websites to develop its functionality so that it was easier to manage for the copywriters and SEO team. Ensuring the layout was more flexible than its previous platform and that it was built in a responsive framework, I was able to work with the business analyst to establish where improvements could be made, including making the graphics render for high pixel density screens to keep the new site looking fresh for years to come.

Throughout my time at Brash, I was able to work on their start-up ecommerce website, CuppaCo. This is built on the Magento platform which not only allowed me to get a good understanding of this system, but also how an ecommerce business operates. Assisting with the development of this site, I helped to directly increase the conversion rate through email and social campaigns.

I was also involved with creating business cards, white paper publications and adverts for print. In addition, I hosted knowledge sharing workshops and introduced team retrospectives to help streamline working practices and make the team more efficient.

Liaising closely with back end developers and UX designers to ensure the website is fully functional and styled to a high standard by updating a range of templates along with creating bespoke templates for larger car dealers.

Tasked with developing a front end framework for the latest generation of car manufactures, we constructed a new java based platform to replace its flash predecessors. Each manufacture had us adapt our platforms front end to blend seamlessly into their website.

Working closely with the back end development team to ensure the project brief was fulfilled, including the use of sourcing and implementing plugins and scripts to meet the site’s requirements. In addition to this, I further developed Sugarvine’s flagship directory website by implementing new features to enhance the business listings, drive more traffic to clients adverts and helping increase leads for the sales department. This allowed us to introduce new technologies with a keen understanding of the latest industry trends.
