Alanna currently lives in New York City, and attends School of Visual Arts. This up-and-coming artist started her art path working as a photo assistant, and now volunteers at the Museum of Natural History in the Exhibitions Department. She has received several awards based on her work, including Special Mention awarded by Gary Indiana in the SVA Painting Show of 2009 for one of her large paintings.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT
I originally started in the art world as a draftsman and aspiring painter, but soon found that my true passion lies in sculpture. My ultimate goal is to bring these natural and fantasy creatures as close to life as possible. Sculpting seemed to be the closest to life I could come, as I am creating figures that exist in space, as we do. I pay very close attention to anatomy and scientific accuracy, and I feel that this is extremely important in making creatures that do not normally exist convincing and believable. Read Less
