My field of work comes from a very intimate and personal space. It is a constant search into the depths of my inner self that has allowed me to recognize my interest to explore the nature of the human being's conscience: its fears, burdens and most hidden thoughts.
I have focused on topics such as memory, from a nostalgic and melancholic perspective, striving to keep fragments from old memories alive through objects that act like material witnesses of the past. Reinventing the meaning of found objects has allowed me to give a sustainable approach to my work, embracing what my environment has to offer, in order to give new life to what nature puts in my path.

I am a firm believer that writing purifies the soul and prolongs life. My work aims to be the illustration of a story, a memory or imagery that has escaped from my mind. The constant development of a strong connection with materials has allowed me to give life to my most abstract inspirations, synchronizing their conceptual meanings with the infinite possibilities offered by materials to create new surfaces. Like words, materials have their own language that is desperate to be heard.

Diving deep on topics such as pain, grieving processes and empathy into my work, led me to a new path of ideas that emerged when exploring the concept of the skin as a channel of non-verbal communication between human beings. I started working with textile surfaces that could act as a metaphor for a ‘second skin’ capable of telling stories by itself; communicating strong messages that arise from the depths of one’s being.
I became fascinated with the translating power of materials, the delicacy of textiles and their strength to convey a message. The interaction between a series of materials with the human body gave me a new vision that conceives them as part of a whole: pieces that act as an extension of the human being, of its body and emotions. To recognize the skin as an extensive surface that, like any material, asks to be explored as the primary medium.

I have come to recognize how, gradually, the space that separates art and design becomes increasingly narrow, leading me to constantly question what the next step is to reach new levels of knowledge. Several questions come to mind in regard to combining poetry, narratives and the beauty of art with the fascinating possibilities of innovation offered by the contemporary fashion industry: how should I give a new direction that will allow my work to continue with experimental design processes related to the human body as a protagonist? How to be an active part of the change this world needs? I strive to create a new conscious and empathic perspective in regard to the human condition through art and design practices, while making an immediate impact in the fashion industry. Read Less
